Well, I did most of what I said I'd do, but not all of it.Here's what I did do in the meantime:

Tried on and tossed out ill fitting clothes.
Backed up Music collection (involved learning to use IMGBURN + BURN TO THE BRIM).
Backed up Downloads
Cleaned up backyard
Sorted out drawing tools

Dropped clothes at Salvos in Mayfield

I've reached fortnight 4 of Artist's way (I'm doing each step two weeks a time rather than one) and have just read the chapter. "Recovering a Sense of Integrity. It makes a lot of sense, though I'm a bit worried about doing one of the exercises: Reading Deprivation!

Been procrastinating of doing another post, partly due to illness. Last Sunday I had an unexpected ARTIST'S DATE.

I was really keen to get out of the house, and caught a morning local bus. But I didn't know exactly where I wanted to go - just not to the nearest shopping centre. I saw another passenger get off and assumed that he was catching ( Read more... )

I abandoned my morning pages yesterday after two pages, because the pups escaped and had to be rounded up.

NOT HAPPY this morning - have been so frustrated with escaping pups FIRST THING in the morning, and having to spend 20 minutes repairing a fence line BEFORE doing anything else (including my morning pages, which then became full of "F* ( Read more... )

One of the other things I'm doing for fortnight (week) 2 is reviewing the basic principles every day after doing the morning pages. Here they are, as I understand them:

There's more to Artist's way than just doing the morning pages. On of the exercises I've done for fortnight (week) 2 was drawing a chart of how balanced my life is at the moment.

You draw a circle and put "exercise", "spirituality", "friends", "romance/adventure", "work" and "play" equidistant (about 60 °) around it. Then you draw a dot ( Read more... )

Today or tomorrow are probably the last days I'll be doing the first week/fortnight. The original schedule was that I'd take 2 weeks on each, and see a counsellor to discuss what I'd done every two weeks as well. However at the first meeting it transpired that he hadn't got the book yet! Thinbgs were deferred a bit after that.
